Overview

The Romney Weir is located on the River Thames and is part of an innovative scheme to supply power to Windsor Castle from the river that flows by its doors.

Modern technology now makes it possible to harness the normally placid flow of the Thames by means of a discrete turbine house which could generate enough power to satisfy the needs of the Castle via an underground cable.
